As TSB is slowly growing, more and more people join the community. Sometimes it’s nice to know and learn a bit more about the people behind the community, the people making it all possible as well as to hear from it’s members, the people that make up the community. We thought it would be nice to spotlight a member of the community every week to get to know them. This week is the forty fourth one in the series with an American Gamer whom has played a lot of games in such a short amount of time and they are Jo1063
So, Who are you?
“I am a 19-year-old American college student (CS Major, Double Minor in History & Aerospace Science), who works two jobs while trying to maintain a social life and good grades. Been a small-time gamer since I was young, playing Battleship on my mother’s Super Nintendo.
Didn’t really start gaming until I turned 14 and joined my father on World of Warcraft. My username used to be something a little more indicative of who I was, as I wound up getting this one as a suggestion when creating a Forge of Empires account and ran with it ever since.
I play a multitude of games, from slow-paced strategy and real time games (Hearts of Iron, Elite: Dangerous), MMO-RPGs (WoW), and FPS (Arma 3, Rainbow Six: Siege, Call of Duty, Battlefield).”
What is your job in TSB?
“As a T-2, I am supposed to be a competent member of the Arma community with experience, and able to perform tasks with relative ease/competency. Also not be a dick to new people and help mentor them.
As a Strategy Group host, I run strategy games weekly. Currently bouncing between Hearts of Iron 4 and Star Wars: Empire at War.
I also run the TSB War Thunder squadron, although that doesn’t really mean too much in the long run.”
What makes you happy?
“Gaming with people. It could be my closest buddies, or it could be the friends I’ve made through TSB, it doesn’t matter. We could be tearing our hair out in frustration, but hey, gaming wouldn’t be as fun without the competitive aspect of it.”
What is your #1 song on your playlist?
“Ohhhhhhhh that’s a good one. I’m a massive sucker for most types of music. Honestly, my current #1 song would have to be “Helig” by John Lunn & Eivor, from The Last Kingdom OST.”
What is your all-time favorite game at this point in time? and why?
“War Thunder. I have, at this point, over or close to 3,000 hours in game. I just love it for the fact that there is honestly no other game in the market with its versatility and choices. That and I’m a history nerd, so I’ve geeked out over the vehicles in the game for hours on end. I love to take screenshots from the game, the prettier the better the chance that they’ll end up as a desktop background.”
How long have you been a gamer? And how long have you been in TSB?
“I have been a small-time gamer since I was about 5 but didn’t really start properly gaming as per say until I was 14. I have been in TSB for a year and a half now.”
What got you started in Gaming? And why did you join TSB?
“I got started in gaming by playing Battleship on Super Nintendo, then I really started with World of Warcraft. I joined TSB due to Liru’s videos and stayed for the memes (I find gaming far more enjoyable with a bunch of idiots, the jokes are far better).”
What do you consider your greatest gaming moment/achievement? and in TSB? Can you tell us a bit about it?
“My greatest gaming moment would be killing two La-5FNs, a Yak-3 and a Yak-9 within 2-3 minutes in my P-51D-20. Killed one La-5 in a head on, dove 5km and killed the other three as they tried to take down a friendly Tempest. Took down the other three within 30sec, longest pause was the dive from 5km down to ground level.
In TSB, my greatest moment would be…somehow not killing any friendly infantry with a Mk19 while crewing an MRAP with M1 Garand. Killed lots of enemy AI, half the time ranging in a half kilometer shot and nailing them in the chest with the first round.”
What was your biggest gaming blunder? and in TSB?
“My biggest gaming blunder would be in TSB. Blew up half of base in one of Barb’s ops by barely touching the refuel vic with the rearm vic. Blew up a Blackhawk, Abrams, all three Triple R vics and dropped a building on a friendly squad.”
If you were one of the Council members in TSB, what would you change, and why?
“Nothing really. Haven’t seen many things that caused me concern and any that did were handled before I even realized there was an issue.”
What has been some of the best moments you’ve had?
“Earning an Air Force ROTC scholarship. Earning the thing I had been working my rear end off for years was EXTREMELY satisfying. Now it’s the payoff of keeping that scholarship at the end of every term.”
What do you typically use to game?
“Used to use a laptop but upgraded at the beginning of the year to a desktop computer. It’s a Cyberpower tower.
Ryzen 5 3600
24GB RAM
Radeon RX 580
2TB Hard Drive, 240GB SSD”
If you were to describe TSB in as few words as possible, what would they be? (10 words max!)
“War Crimes…what war crimes? You mean the memes?”
Favorite food and/or drink?
“Fav food: Scrapple
Fav drink: Southern sweet tea, not that Northern stuff that’s just lightly flavored water.”
If you were to pick the next interview to be published, who would it be, and why?
“Vankrom. He’s the guy who I usually try and squad up with, mostly cause he’s squishy. :P”
What would you ask this person you want interviewed?
“Just how squishy are you?”
Now Emz had a question from their interview: “How many cats do you have, and how many do you want to have?”
“I personally don’t have any cats. I do have a Maxx, my little god-kitten, who my close friend rescued. But I personally haven’t had a cat since I was around 6, when we had to give up my cat, Smokey.”
